I had the weekend off and got some stuff done around here. Mainly laundry.
We finished laying tiles in the downstairs hallway and boot room. They have yet to be grouted, but the two of us having a day off is rare, and there's no guarantee of when that'll be coming around again.
That will be the day I tell ya.
Good thing we enjoyed each others company while we had it on the weekend.
I was just getting ready for work, and thought I should do a quick update. I am scheduled for the next 6 days and then a week or two of alternating day on - day off business.
Maybe I will be able to cross some blogging and jewelry posting off my list.
Maybe I can also convince Boo to stay home on one of those off days.
We can call it a house emergency day.
There are some emergencies around here lately. Like how our downstairs bathroom is gutted, with exception of the shower, and the upstairs shower is now in retirement until we can get new tiles put in. We didn't plan this, but we plan to fix it. This week.
Thankfully we still have 1 bathroom if you add them all up. lol
That is the life, the one of the working home owner - I guess.
In a similar situation? Let it out my dear. I wanna dry your tears.
We will get there. Eventually.

I'm right there with ya. Having a husband in graduate school while also trying to get through the home remodeling process is NOT working. We have one bathroom halfway done (mostly painted, but still in need of drywall repair, it REALLY should be retiled but IDK if that's in the budget, toilet needs repair, shower neesd a showerhead...), the guest bedroom's halfway done (almost done painting, except for the closet and doors, needs a closet door, needs carpeting), our main bathroom's a work-in-progress too (need the shower and floor tiled, drywall repair, paint, possibly a new window)... it definitely feels like it will NEVER get done, especially not while he's in school AND has to drive about 40 miles round-trip to go to the field site for his thesis project EVERY DAY. UGH. So chin up. You're not alone in this!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep holding on to the result because you will get there in time. One time when we renovated we had to live at my mother-in laws for 4 weeks while working full time too come home and work on the house (complete gut of bathroom and converted a closet into powder/make up bathroom for my wife). Now that was...you get the picture and once it was all done it was great but it never ends because once the major jobs are done there is always maintenance! Good luck!
